C-MONE
Second After Second EP
Son 037 / Nov 2005

Nottingham’s C-Mone has been busy earning her stripes on the hip-hop underground for a while now: one-quarter of now-legendary Notts supercrew Outdaville, releasing records and touring the lengths n breadths of the UK’s clubs and radio stations in the process; later going solo with several EP releases, both on Son and her own label Dark Whisper Records; collaborating with Estelle on her debut CD and Mike Skinner on The Streets’ second album; helping put together a charity CD of local Notts talent in response to certain sad events in her hometown last year, and then starting off this year with a win at the UK Hip-Hop Awards as Best Female Emcee 2005.. All good so far, but we feel like the best is yet to come, in fact its just round the corner, with C-Mone’s debut album set for release in Feb ’06. But just so’s you can get a taste of the good stuff you’ve got to look forward to, here’s a double-barrelled blast of pure lyrical, musical, hip-hop goodness.

SECOND AFTER SECOND
Like a gauntlet thrown down to those that make the world we live in, this is a song for our times, and a rousing tune to boot. C-Mone comes through with natural lyrical poise, both larger-than-life and down to earth, giving you a blast of cool reason and fresh perspective. Bold, intelligent british hip-hop music, and a clear statement that this girl is on her way to stake her place in this. Big, rocking virtuoso production courtesy of future Notts production stars and band in their own right, The Marga Boyz (Pidgeon and Outdaville’s Nick Stez and Lee Ramsay).

ARTICLE 5
As has always been the case, C-Mone has things to say, and it makes more sense than 100 men in suits clutching their party manifestos. Named in honour of a certain ignored-when-convenient provision of the European Convention on Human Rights (stop & search it). feel the force of the voice of articulate anger at the shabbiness of what’s going on under our noses.. enough to make a smirking politician blush, while the next man’ll be like ‘raaah!!’ - cos this track bumps and C-Mone kills it with the double-time flow. Epic, low-slung bass-business provided
compliments of Ill-Mannered Productions (aka Smiley, previously featured on C-Mone’s ‘Stan Bac’ single and obviously a man to watch).

HANDZ OF TIME feat. THE MARGA BOYZ
The Marga Boyz return with a fine slice of rush-hour funk, and an anthem for all the working stiffs out there.. When the alarm clock is your enemy, the toast is burning, and you just can’t find that other sock… Just remember it happens to the best of us..
