From the fine tradition of the raw story teller comes a new blud, although you can tell he’s not new to the art. Wordsmith, dealer in rugged rhymes laced with honesty, intelligence and skills, painting pictures like graff on wax. The Road Man Showcase serves up a selection of nuggets culled from various sessions in the Boiler Room lab over the last couple with the prolific and ever-impressive production maestro Tom Caruana, (who produced all tracks on this album), ably assisted on a selection of tracks by the heavyweight rhymer and lyricist, Genesis Elijah, who’s set to cause some proper damage on the scene in his own right any minute now.
Whilst not being Words’ debut album proper, this CD gives you a little taste of what he’s got to come, treats to you to a prime selection of Caruana’s virtuoso and infectious production, and also serves as a tight little album/prequel while the main show gets prepped.. With everything from hyped-up aggy shit (‘The Banga’) to reflective extended metaphor (‘Millennial Mic’), precision rugged rhyming (‘The Analyst’/’Sun God (Rmx)’) and heartfelt personal tribute (‘Inspirational’/’The Getaway’ - different kinds of tribute..), through to the last little treat at the end, its all good, and we hope will give you a sense that you’re hearing the start of plenty good things to come from this man, and all the other players involved in the months and years to come..
