CAPPO
Cap 3000 EP
Son 011 / Sep 1999

This is how we do - the old to the new: step up CAPPO, a tough young rhymer from Notts ready to show and prove. This is your chance to catch the first taste on vinyl of some of the rugged rhymes and fiery flows that have been getting this emcee’s emcee some serious props all over. Hell-bent on ripping mics to shreds and rappers to ribbons, don’t sleep on the man’s production, which is pure hip-hop, served straight-up. No frills, plenty of skills. All topped off with a late-summer-style rolling remix from fellow Notts resident and LOST ISLAND supa-produca STYLY CEE. Once again we bring you the genuine article, and plenty of it.

LOODIKRUS
The new kid on the block sets out his agenda - no effing around. This is the warning shot to you all you wack rhyme bastards: be prepared to be stepped to, and don’t cry when you lose. Pump-ya-fist jump-up style, with loodikrus cuts by STYLY CEE.

ILLITERATE
After his blistering introduction, CAPPO eases up a little (but not that much) and lays back in the groove, while still finding time to offer a few carefully observed words on MC Joe’s lyrical limitations.

GRAVITY
Bringing the mass like Deep Impact, this one connects like a KO. Tense, brooding beats and vibes build the scene for a portrait of a man with serious battle hunger. For all the hot air emcees, CAPS spits lines guaranteed to puncture egos, and constructs his chorus like a battle plan.

VOLATILE
After the last cut, anyone want to step? Just in case they did, CAPPO reinforces his rep with a pitbull flow over a rugged, funky production made of pure head-nod solution.

THE VINTAGE (STYLY CEE REMIX)
STYLZ from the Lost Isles comes to bless the B-side with a B-boy beat to batter any summertime blues. CAPPO rises to the challenge and paints a past-tense picture of the man behind the microphone.. Taking you back, way back.. to BMX, breaking, and teenage B-boying.

HOLDING UP
Showing further evidence of his diverse production style, CAPPO drops it in a mellow, reflective kind of vein, and convinces doubters that that they’ll be hearing his name for a while to come yet.
