New Cappo LP 'Genghis' available now

Don't need the facts? Get the LP here now.

So we've been dropping hints for a little while now about some big things we've got heading your way.

And you may also have heard round the way about the fact that Cappo, consummate Akai Professional and creator (along with the other notable Akai Pro's) of the timeless classic 'Spaz The World' album has a new mother-lode ready to drop..

Well, we're fairly confident you can see where we're going with this.

Possibly the subject-line above, and the fact that there's a clear-as-day picture of a brand-new Cappo LP sitting right there in the middle of the screen tells you all you really need to know.

But just to be rigorous about these things, here are the facts that count right now:

1. Cappo has a new album entitled 'Genghis' due for worldwide release in various formats* on 6th April

2. Said album is the raw uncut Tower-of-London-Crown-Jewel hip-hop classic you'd hope it would be (there will be more on this point at a later date).

3. It's being released on limited edition double-vinyl: mixed by the best, mastered by the best, pressed by the best, and painstakingly hand-assembled by our in-house crack-team, each copy sealed and numbered, and signed and inscribed with a unique message by Cappo (meaning he wrote a bunch of different stuff on every single copy, in one 5 hour stretch, breaking only for one 10 minute emergency carbohydrate infusion - we'll be showing you some censored images shortly).

4. Copies of the limited edition LP are available right now here, and from reputable specialist retailers shortly.

5. The Limited part of this Edition means there are 200 copies. There will be no re-represses. This is it.

6. Very few people have so far heard the album, as we've been Fort Knox-ing it on this one. We're largely pre-empting the usual pre-release promotional channels to bring it straight to you -  freshly minted from the Attic direct to your cortex, via your turntable. And with a bit of help from Royal Mail.

7. And as a little touch for those buying the LP directly from us here, all copies ordered from the Son shop will include a surprise something extra tucked away inside, old school cereal-packet style. But its far better than a set of Tony The Tiger wash-off tattoos, and for anyone who's appreciated Cappo's work over the years, this will be a real bona fide treat, and proper exclusive to boot.

* For those not of the vinyl persuasion, the usual digital formats will be available as from Genghis Day, April 6th 2010.

Anyone wanting to buy the album as a vinyl/download combo right now can do so by selecting the 'LP + MP3' option in the shop - vinyl will be mailed now, and a link to get a free download of the album in a choice of a number of different formats from cappo.bandcamp.com will be mailed on Genghis Day.

There will also be the Platinum Digital Collectors' Limited Edition. But more on that later..
