SHOW IN SHOPTHE START
My earliest memory is being 3/4 yrs old singing and dancing constantly around the house and outside on the street for neighbours and other kids. At the age of five I could be found on the green standing on building equipment containers trashing out freestyle dance routines singing and rhyming - with no MTV it’s a mystery to me how I conceived the idea of forming groups for singing and dancing for the neighbours...
CHILDHOOD - TEEN YEARS
During my childhood I expressed a keen interest in literature and performing. When I hit my teen years I became very shy but still took parts in school performances.
At 16 I was taken to the Community Recording Studio/CRS by a fellow budding artiste to participate in a singing workshop - I was really interested in getting into the music business - an adamant 6 year old Simone had vowed “ never be the artist , I’ll be the manager cause I don’t wanna be a peace of meat!” ... Through the introduction to CRS I met studio and artist Manager Big Trev and producer / singer songwriter Nick STEZ - I pottered around the studio for a year doing a bit of Engineering, Song Writing and Voluntary work.
Once I started writing songs it got deep about SIX seven songs a week - recognised I wrote for singers, but wanted to push the lyrical. In 1997 I saw some guys in a freestyle cipher and being a tomboy I saw the ultimate lyrical challenge and part feminist quest, I’ve been rhyming since.
